Sommario
The objective of the DIONISIO project is to design a proprietary vibroacustic system for the remote real-time monitoring of pipelines. A discrete network of pressure and vibration sensors is installed on the pipeline, at relative distances of tens of kilometres. The acoustic and elastic waves produced by third party interference and flow variations (leaks, spills, valve regulations, pig operations, etc.), propagate along the pipeline, and are recorded at the monitoring stations. The multichannel processing of the collected signals enables the detection, localization and classification of the triggering event.
The project comprises the analysis of the physical problem, the realization of field test campaigns in single phase and multiphase transportation lines, the design and implementation of advanced data processing routines, and the definition of specifications for the proprietary monitoring system.
