Andrea Aliverti has been elected Head of European Respiratory Society Assembly 4 for the 2017.
ERS is an international organisation that brings together physicians, healthcare professionals, scientists and other experts working in respiratory medicine.
Assembly 4 covers a range of topics that provide important links between research and clinical medicine. It has broad scope and includes integrative aspects of respiratory physiology, sleep apnoea and associated health problems and cellular and molecular physiology.
The Assembly is comprised of the following three groups: Clinical Physiology, Sleep and Pulmonary Circulation.
Prof. Aliverti, former secretary of the Assembly 4 since last September, was the candidate with the largest number of votes. The mandate will begin from the last day of the 2017 International Congress in Milan (September 13, 2017).
