Prof. REDAELLI ALBERTO CESARE LUIGI
Professore Ordinario
Alberto Redaelli has obtained a PhD degree in Bioengineering in 1995 on fluid structure interaction mechanics in the left ventricle. Since 2014, he is full professor at the Department of Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano. His teaching activities are in the field of Biomechanics and Computational Biomechanics. He is the student exchange coordinator of the Biomedical Engineering Program since 1999.
At present, he is the responsible of the Computational Biomechanics Laboratory and coordinator of the Biomechanics Research Group of the Department of Bioengineering. He has been involved in the development of manifold industrial research projects. He is the author of more than 120 peer reviewed international papers in the field of biomechanics and nanobiomechanics. In the last ten years he has served as supervisor for 21 PhD students and appx. 70 Master Theses.
He has been the local coordinator of two STREP European Projects and one Marie Curie EST European Project in the nanobiotechnology area in FP6, of one ICT project on heart pathologies in the VPH programme and one IRSES project in FP7 and he is currently the coordinator of one MSCA-ITN project and local coordinator of one RISE project in Horizon 2020. His activity includes the coordination of manifold National public and private projects with 5 patents transferred to the industry.
