Alessia Paglialonga received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan in 2005 and 2009, respectively. She was awarded the Italian Prize "Gruppo Nazionale di Bioingegneria" for the best PhD Thesis in Biomedical Engineering in 2009. In 2009 she joined the CNR National Research Council of Italy as Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (ISIB), where she was Research Scientist from 2011 to 2013. In September 2013 she joined the Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering (IEIIT) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) as Research Scientist.
Her current research interests include the definition and validation of methods and techniques to assess the auditory functionality and in the optimization of technologies for hearing rehabilitation. Her work focused on advanced multiresolution algorithms for the analysis of speech and otoacoustic emissions, psychoacoustics and signal processing for biomedical applications, adaptive speech and speech in noise tests, objective diagnosis of auditory dysfunctions, methods and technologies for hearing screening across the lifespan. She has authored 26 papers in peer-reviewed journals, three book chapters, and more than 50 communications in international conferences.
