Francesco Iacomi is a researcher and engineer specializing in Biomedical Engineering.
He earned his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with top honors from Politecnico di Milano. During his master’s studies, he investigated the field of Machine Learning and Deep Learning, specifically applied to Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs). His master’s thesis focused on decoding Imagined Speech using EEG signals, revealing phonetic and semantic properties of imagined words through brain activity.
Currently, he is enrolled in the PhD program in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano with the supervision of professors Barbieri and Mainardi. In his ongoing doctoral research, he continues to explore the topic of Imagined Speech. Additionally, he is now working on analyzing vertebral CT scans using deep learning techniques to predict fractures resulting from hormone deprivation treatments.
