Blubrake

Blubrake S.r.l. was established in November 2015 as an e-Novia startup and a Spin Off from the Politecnico di Milano.
By exploiting its IPs, Patent Portfolio and know-how, it manufactures and introduces in the market the first electronic control system aimed at assisting the cyclist during the braking manoeuvre, improving the cyclist safety and optimising the braking performance.
BluBrake's offering consists in two products:

• Augmented Sense: haptic warning signals, brake (disk or side pull, cable or hydraulic) agnostic.
• Servo Active: tailor-made ABS technology for ultra-light and low-power vehicles.

These “invisible technologies” products are easily embeddable in the bike frames and are built on high resolution wheel speed sensors, bike frame accelerometers and gyroscopes, control and cognitive electronic platform and haptic and electro-hydraulic actuators.
Signals produced by the sensors are investigated in real-time by BluBrake Artificial Intelligence to keep bike dynamics under control and improve the cyclist safety by preventing front-wheel lock or rear-wheel lift.
The data collected is stored in the cloud to allow potential advanced analytical studies.
The product setting and behaviour is easily customisable by the cyclist thanks to an intuitive and ergonomic interface, while maintenance and configuration is handled through the BluBrake App available on different smartphone stores.
