The Machine Learning for Online Trading project is coordinated and implemented by AIRIC (AI Research and Innovation Center), the university center for industrial research on AI, in partnership with Snaitech, a leading Italian company in the online gambling sector. The goal of the project is to study the potential of adopting Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques within company processes, in particular those related to the formulation of odds for sporting events and the monitoring of users’ preferences.
The project will be developed in four main macro-phases: the first consists of a feasibility study and the collection of context information, in order to identify the specific cases in which the introduction of AI could be beneficial and to collect the domain knowledge and the datasets needed to apply the algorithms. The second phase aims to develop a proof of concept, in order to test the most promising algorithms identified in the scientific literature in a simulated and controlled environment and to choose the most suitable ones to respond to Snaitech's performance indicators. In the third phase, the developed algorithms will be integrated with existing platforms and infrastructures, in order to conduct tests in a real environment and calibrate their parameters in an optimal way with respect to the collected evidence. The fourth and final phase will consist of a report on the results obtained and a study of any subsequent steps that could extend what has been done to a greater number of use cases within Snaitech's processes.
