Cristina Chieffo earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, her hometown, and completed her Master’s degree at the Politecnico di Milano in May 2023. Her thesis focused on developing an algorithm for kinematic analysis of water-based rehabilitation exercises, utilizing experimental IMU sensors and open-source software. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Electronics, Information, and Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with INAIL. Her research focuses on injury prevention in workplaces and reintegration into the workforce after occupational injuries or illnesses. The primary goal is to develop a standardized protocol, supported by artificial intelligence, to provide INAIL physicians with an objective assessment of injury severity for their patients.
