Mariagrazia Monteleone pursued a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where her education focused on machine learning applications in medical imaging. During her thesis, she collaborated with Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (INT) and investigated the prediction of immunotherapy response using machine learning algorithms.

Following the completion of her master's thesis, Mariagrazia Monteleone joined the CartCasLab as a PhD student. Currently, she is working on developing XAI algorithms for medical imaging in oncology validating them through the use of High Energy Physics (HEP) data. Her research aims to enhance the interpretability and transparency of algorithms for tumour characterization and treatment outcome prediction.
