Two projects from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano have been selected among the winners of the 17th edition of Switch2Product, the entrepreneurial empowerment program promoted by the University’s Technology Transfer Office, PoliHub (now TEF Bridge), and Officine Innovazione of Deloitte.
With 181 projects evaluated, the initiative once again confirms its role as a key reference point for students, researchers, and innovators aiming to transform research results and technological ideas into high-potential entrepreneurial ventures.
The selected projects, each awarded a €30,000 grant, are Voice Shield and Ventoplani, both stemming from research activities within the Department.
Voice Shield, proposed by Daniele Ugo Leonzio, Daniele Moro, Paolo Bestagini, and Stefano Tubaro develops an artificial intelligence–based technology for the real-time detection of synthetic voices and deepfakes in audio communications, with the goal of countering increasingly sophisticated fraud and manipulation.
Ventoplani, presented by Filippo Trevisi and Lorenzo Fagiano, introduces a new generation of wind energy systems based on tethered aircraft, capable of generating energy with reduced material usage compared to conventional technologies, thus contributing to the development of more sustainable renewable energy solutions.
The winning teams will now take part in a three-month incubation program starting in early March. The program is designed to support the technological growth of the solutions and strengthen the validation of the start-ups’ business models. During the program, each team will be supported by a dedicated mentor to help them analyse the market, refine their business model, and define their development strategy.
