Andrea Naggi has been awarded the "Prof. Emilio Gatti" 2022 Award for his master’s thesis “Fast opamp-based preamplifier for rad-hard detection systems”, written in the academic year 2021/2021 at the Radiation Imaging Detectors Lab of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering under the supervision of Prof. Chiara Guazzoni.
The thesis is about the development of the frontend electronics for an innovative detection system for the identification of the cocktail radioactive beams at high luminosity, able to withstand high radiation doses.
The "Prof. Emilio Gatti" Award is awarded every two years by the Istituto Lombardo – Accademia di Scienze e Lettere in memory of Emilio Gatti, on the initiative of his sons and daughters, to a fresh graduated who has developed an innovative measurement system. Emilio Gatti, IEEE Life Fellow, was an unforgettable professor of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, a mentor and role model for thousands of students and colleagues in Italy and in the world.
Andrea Naggi received his award during the first meeting of the year (Adunanza Solenne) that opened the 220th Academic Year of the Institute on February 16th, 2023 at the Sala Adunanze of the Istituto Lombardo in Via Brera 28, Milano.
