Between April 11 and 12, 2024, the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano attended two of the institutional events organized on the occasion of Italy's presidency of the G7, which will last until the end of 2024.

As an expert in artificial intelligence, Prof. Nicola Gatti attended the meeting of the G7 national academies held at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei in Rome. The meeting is also known as Science7 or S7 and aims to produce joint statements on major issues of global interest in order to submit them to the heads of state and government of the G7 countries.

Prof. Sergio Matteo Savaresi, together with the 1000 MAD project team, was involved in the meeting of the G7 transport ministers held at Palazzo Reale in Milan. The event showcased the Maserati MC20 Cielo, which Prof. Savaresi’s team is transforming into a fully autonomous vehicle as part of the first national experimentation project for self-driving vehicles on public roads.

The presence of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at the G7 institutional events not only testifies to the international recognition of its expertise in the field of engineering, but also to its willingness to share its knowledge and collaborate with other global players to address challenges related to artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and sustainable mobility.
