The Modelica Association is a non-profit organization with members from Europe, U.S.A., Canada and Asia. Since 1996, it develops coordinated, open access standards and open source software in the area of cyber physical systems and systems engineering.

All the standards are accompanied by open source software to support the use of the standard, such as the Modelica Standard Library containing about 1600 Modelica model components in many domains, other open source Modelica libraries, or the FMI compliance checker to check whether a model fulfils the requirements of the FMI standard.
