Abstract

On Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:30 pm will we have a new seminar of DEEPSE Forum series titled "Generative AI to Overcome Healthcare Data Limitations and Advance Personalized Medicine ".

Personalized medicine relies on AI to extract actionable insights from biomedical data. Yet, real-world medical datasets often suffer from critical limitations, including scarcity, privacy constraints, imbalance, and technical biases. Generative AI offers a powerful set of tools to mitigate these issues and accelerate data-driven innovation in healthcare. In this talk, we present two concrete applications of generative AI in the biomedical domain. First, we introduce a synthetic data generation framework for transcriptomic data that incorporates prior biological knowledge to enhance the plausibility and utility of generated samples. Second, we present a generative approach for hypothesis generation of combined therapeutic strategies in oncology. Together, these applications highlight how generative AI can serve as a key enabler for the next era of personalized medicine.
