Grant at CHEST for Fedorov
2015 - FEDOROV ROMAN
Roman Fedorov, DEIB Ph.D in Information Technology student, won a grant (60k) at CHEST, an European competition on Social Innovation.
CHEST is a 30 month Collaborative project co-financed with support from the European Commission through FP7. The aim of the project is to provide a forum that will enable entrepreneurs and innovators from across the EU to propose new solutions that have the potential to address key societal challenges, so called ‘social innovation’.
In addition, CHEST will invest up to €2.5 Million in highly innovative ideas through the launch of three open funding rounds.
The third CHEST call invited submissions for project that should aim to advance an innovative idea through the development of a prototype/demonstrator of a technologically innovative product, service or process.
The Fedorov proposal is a mobile application to automatically label photos of mountains, in order to facilitate the collection of geolocated images usable for environmental studies.
