Mariagrazia Fugini is Professor of Computer Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. She has been a Visiting Professor at University of Maryland, Technical University of Vienna, University of Stuttgart, UPC Barcelona and has established various international cooperation activities for research and teaching. She teaches Information Systems in the School of Management and Computer Engineering both in Como Campus (foreign students) and in Milano- Leonardo Campus. Her research interests are in information systems security, development and re-engineering, in E-government, in environmental risk management, and in Green IT. She participated in several European Project like TODOS, ITHACA, WIDE and WS-Diamond on information system development, software reuse, data security, information retrieval, and business process and web application design. In the SEEMP (Single European Employment Market Place) EU project, she worked on service platforms for the Employment Market Place. In the area of Green IT, she recently worked in GAMES (Green Active Management of Energy in IT Service Centers) EU project on metrics and green certificates, and continues on green federated Clouds in the ECO2CLOUDS EU Project. She is also involved in the TOISE (Trusted Computing for European Embedded Systems) EU project. She co-authored "Database Security" (Addison-Wesley, 1995), "Sicurezza dei Sistemi Informatici" (Apogeo 2001), "Sistemi Informativi basati su Web" (F. Angeli, 2006) and "Impianti Informatici: tecnologie e applicazioni" (McGraw-Hill, 2007). She cooperates with the Italian and European Public Administrations in the design of Portals of Services to Citizens and Enterprises, such as Borsa Lavoro Lombardia and SINTESI, for employment services and in cooperation with the Municipality of Barcelona. She has a continuous teaching cooperation with UPC Barcelona. She co-authored several international publications, is in the Program Committees of Conferences and Journals on Information Systems and Security. From 2009 to 2011 she has been in the Equal Opportunity Committee of Politecnico di Milano.
