Prof. TANELLI MARA

Since October 5, 2020, Mara Tanelli is Full Professor of Automatic Control at the Politecnico di Milano, where she earned the Ph.D. in Information Engineering in 2007. Her research activity focuses on both basic and applied research, mainly within the Automotive and Mobility sector. More recently, she has been working in Industrial Analytics, combining control-oriented techniques with data-analytics in different industrial sectors, ranging from Smart Manufacturing to Aerospace. She is author of more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 25 industrial patents (most in co-application between the Politecnico di Milano and corporate partners). She is also deeply involved in the institutional life of the Politecnico di Milano, where since 2023 she's been serving as Rector’s Delegate for Diversity and Inclusion and, at department level, as Director’s Delegate for Organizational Innovation and KPIs. In December 2022 she was appointed Board member of Fondazione Politecnico di Milano. From 2021 to 2023 she was Chair of the IEEE CSS Technical Committee on Automotive Control and is currently Vice-Chair for publication of the twin IFAC Committee. In 2021/2022 she was member of the committee investigating the "Impact of Climate Change on National Infrastructures" and of the "Structure for the Ecological Transition of Mobility and Infrastructures (STEMI)" for the Italian Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility.
