Fabio Salice (PhD in Electronics and Telecommunications – 1994 - Politecnico di Milano) is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB) at Politecnico di Milano.
He is the founder and member of the coordination committee of ATG (Assistive Technology Group). AT group is an interdisciplinary group aiming at identify, forecast, implement, promote and apply innovative methods and technologies from ICT for the development of sustainable solutions for fragility with particular attention to physical impairment, mild cognitive disability and elderly, in order to foster, preserve and strengthen the independent live. He is the responsible of the university node – as Politecnico di Milano – of the AsTech lab of CINI (Interuniversity National Consortium for the Informatics) where he is member of management committee.
Currently, his research interests cover pervasive systems design, with particular attention to Assistive Technology; concept drift, with particular focus on a human behavioral drift; and design and synthesis methodologies of dependable systems.
He has published more than 140 papers in international journals, books, and congress proceedings.
He received the best paper awards during IEEE IJCNN'92, IEEE ICONIP'95, IEEE ICCD'98 and a best paper CISCO Systems Award for an internal research activity.
