Wei Xia is a post-doctoral researcher at the EI Lab in the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano. Previously, he worked as a research fellow in the Industrial Systems Engineering and Management Department at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Wei earned his Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from NUS in 2020. Wei's research interests primarily revolve around the development of optimization and simulation methods for the design and management of large-scale water resources systems. Additionally, he is fascinated by the application of cutting-edge machine/deep learning algorithms in natural hazard management, such as flooding prediction and algae bloom forecasting, as well as water resources management. Beyond his academic pursuits, Wei has a deep appreciation for nature and history. He finds solace in exploring the great outdoors, embracing the wonders of the natural world. His love for nature not only provides him with a source of inspiration but also serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness between the environment and his research. As a dedicated researcher and nature enthusiast, Wei Xia combines his passion for water resources management and the exploration of the natural world to contribute to a better understanding and sustainable management of our planet's precious resources.
