Prof. CURZEL SERENA
Ricercatore
Serena Curzel was born in Trento in 1994. She obtained her Bachelor Degree from Università degli studi di Trento in 2016, and her Master Degree from Politecnico di Milano in 2019. She was awarded a PhD degree cum laude in Information Technology from Politecnico di Milano in 2023, after defending a thesis with the title “Modern High-Level Synthesis: Improving Productivity with a Multi-level Approach”. During her PhD research, supervised by prof. Fabrizio Ferrandi, she developed a compiler-based framework for the acceleration of Deep Learning algorithms, thanks also to a collaboration with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the USA. She then spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher in the context of the EU H2020 EVEREST project, focused on FPGA acceleration of Big Data applications. Starting from August 2024 she is Assistant Professor (RTDA) at DEIB, continuing her research on novel methods for design automation and High-Performance Computing.
