In an informal fireside talk, Luca Fasoli, Senior Vice President of Silicon Technology and Manufacturing at Western Digital, will take us through his unexpected career journey that brought him from a Master and a Ph.D at Politecnico di Milano to becoming an executive in the Silicon Valley.
He’s currently leading a global team of 900+ engineers and researchers who are developing unique NAND-based memory devices to be used in Western Digital products, in a constant challenge to push technology boundaries and innovation in the new era of AI.
Designed for students about to graduate or to complete their Ph.D. studies, the talk will shed light on Luca’s “critical mistakes” during his journey and on the learnings he acquired from the industry’s brightest engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs that he was lucky enough to work with. Throughout the talk the audience will have an opportunity to interact directly with Luca in an intimate setting.
