On January 25th, 2023 Salvatore Andolina will held a seminar on "Creativity Accelerators: Human-Centered Information Retrieval for Enhancing Creativity and Social Interaction" in Alario Seminar Room at 1.30 pm.
Salvatore Andolina will present findings from his own research at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI), information retrieval (IR), and creativity. He will delve into the ways in which human-centered approaches can be utilized to develop innovative systems for accessing and interacting with information, and how they can be leveraged to enhance human capabilities and improve performance in various social and creative tasks, from brainstorming to exploratory search and everyday digital tasks.
He will present a number of novel systems and related controlled studies, spanning qualitative and quantitative analytics. The studies will show that creativity and social interaction can be effectively supported by combining a variety of building blocks, including interactive searchable objects, the spatial organization of information, semantic metadata, voice interaction, crowdsourced input, and proactive information delivery.
The talk will conclude by reflecting on how the findings fit in the context of the new AI revolution and briefly introduce the emerging field of Human-Centered AI.
The event will be held online by Webex
