Project abstract
CAESAR’s aim is to investigate the (Q)SAR models’ development and to demonstrate its validity in the implementation of the REACH legislation. The REACH legislation imposes the certification of all the substances employed in every commercialized product and it is a meaningful challenge for the European chemical industry.
The models will reduce the necessity of experiments on animals and they will be the base of a protocol proposal for the acceptance of validations “in silico” of chemical substances within the European regulation. The project’s partners are representatives of regulators, scientific, and technological agencies.
The patners are: Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche "Mario Negri" (Italy), Central Science Laboratory (U.K.), BioChemics Consulting SAS (France), Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, Politecnico di Milano (Italy), KnowledgeMiner Software (Germany), Liverpool John Moores University (U.K.), UFZ Centre for Environmental Research (Germany) National Institute of Chemistry (Slovenia), TNO Quality of Life (The Netherlands). The project is ongoing.
