Project abstract

PRINTFLOODS is a research fellowship project funded by AXA-Research Fund and endorsed by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC/UNESCO) as UN Ocean Decade Action. The project is aimed at strengthening coastal communities’ resilience through better forecasting and projecting compound flood risk. Using machine learning techniques, the project seeks to better predict compound flood risk and identify high-risk areas in order to strengthen anticipatory humanitarian action and index-based insurance, to reduce the impacts of floods induced by extreme weather events and sea level rise caused by climate change.

A logo with a background resembling waves or water currents of a river or sea. The logo itself features a rectangular shape with fluid, wavy lines that mimic water or flows. Next to the logo, there are the words "PRINT FLOODS" in modern fonts, with an icon of two blue waves above the text, hinting at a theme related to water or floods.
