Project abstract

The "SIDERA^B - Sistema Integrato DomiciliarE e Riabilitazione Assistita al Benessere" project, funded by the Lombardy Region as part of the POR FESR, aimed to design, develop, and validate an Integrated Home Rehabilitation System. A multi-domain and multi-device platform supported by innovative technologies intended for patients with chronic diseases of particular relevance (neurodegenerative, severe heart disease and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) who absorb a large part of Lombardy's healthcare expenditure.

To date for these patients there are no pathways which can be considered represent an exportable model, structured, integrated, continuous and, above all, validated in their socio-health and economic effectiveness. The SIDERA^B project, closed March 2021, has demonstrated the feasibility and sustainability of the approach by several points of view: management, ICT, and economic. Furthermore, it has confirmed an optimal acceptance by both patients and caregivers and an excellent impact both psychological and clinical.
