Paolo Maffezzoni received the Laurea degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering (1991, Politecnico di Milano) and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Instrumentation (1996, Università degli Studi di Brescia).
In 1998, he joined the DEIB as an Assistant Professor. Currently, he is a Full Professor of Electrical Engineering in the same department.
He was a member of the board of the PhD  track in Information Technology (2008-2015) and the organizer of several courses and seminars for the PhD School at Politecnico di Milano.
His research interests include advanced computational methods for the analysis and design of nonlinear dynamical circuits, coupled oscillator
arrays, synchronization, hierarchical, event-driven and stochastic simulations. Such a research has been applied in part to analog & analog-mixed-signal RF circuits, photovoltaic systems for renewable energy production, and the development of new architectures for unconventional computing. He has been the local coordinator of grants and funded activities, such as Progetto Roberto Rocca between Politecnico di Milano (PoliMI) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology  (MIT),  Italian Ministry of University and Research Grant, and educational activity sponsored by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS). He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
He has served as an Associate Editor of several international journals, e.g. IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers (TCAS-I) and IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided-Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems (TCAD), and as a member of the Technical Program Committees in international conferences, e.g.  IEEE-ACM Design Automation Conference (DAC).
He has published 68 papers in ISI journals (62 of which in IEEE journals) and 62 works in refereed conferences.
