SHADMAN YAZDI ALI
PHD Student in Bioengineering
[javascript protected email address]
Research areas:
  • Bioengineering
Research Line:
  • Biological and Biomechanical Engineering
My name is Ali, and I was born in Iran and raised in Dubai, UAE. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Debrecen, Hungary, where my bachelor thesis explored the use of artificial intelligence for the puzzle board game Mastermind.
This early interest in AI led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where I applied my technical skills to real-world problems in the healthcare system. During my master’s thesis, titled “Automating 3D Facial Landmark Annotation Using Deep Learning,” I focused on advancing stereophotogrammetry techniques for facial analysis and landmark localization.

Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano, where I am excited to explore how AI can enhance clinical decision-making, specifically with 3D facial models related to Maxillofacial Surgery. My research aims to develop interpretable AI models that can help build trust in healthcare applications, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes.
