Javier Babi Almenar, researcher in the Ecology group at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – Politecnico di Milano, has been selected as a Lead Author for the upcoming IPBES assessment on Spatial Planning & Connectivity.
The IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) is an independent intergovernmental institution of international relevance, tasked with providing scientific assessments to support public policy. Participation in this assessment fully aligns with the activities of the NPRR project National Biodiversity Future Centre (NBFC) to which Javier contributes, and with the strategies of Politecnico di Milano. Politecnico has long been committed to promoting science diplomacy and advancing interdisciplinary research with global impact. Involvement in an IPBES assessment highlights the University’s excellence in sustainability and ecosystem protection, reinforcing its contribution to scientific and societal challenges of international significance.
