The collaboration between the Politecnico di Milano and the technical staff of the 3rd Division of the Air Force Logistics Command continues within the framework of the ‘Pianificazione Avanzata Flotta AM (PAFAM)’ (Advanced Planning AM Fleet) project.

A research group from the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering coordinated by Prof. Mara Tanelli, is participating in the project, which aims to optimise flight line maintenance logistics chains thanks to the most modern processing systems and the Air Force's supercomputing platform. The group will contribute to developing methodologies and approaches based on dynamic optimisation and machine-learning.

This synergy between the military and academic components represents a significant step towards innovation and efficiency in military logistics. The project is a tangible example of how the combination of expertise from different realities can lead to cutting-edge solutions, ensuring optimal resource management and increased operational readiness.

Started from a collaboration between DEIB and the Air Force Logistics Command, the project's activities also made it possible to initiate and consolidate cooperation with the Air Force's Automated Information Systems Department, fostering a fruitful exchange of knowledge and know-how between the two parties and facilitating new opportunities for collaboration.
