Prof. Chiara Guazzoni at Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria of Politecnico di Milano has been appointed ambassador of the city of Milan in the context of the Milan Ambassador Programme, an initiative designed by Milano&Partners and YesMilano to involve professionals in the promotion of the city as a destination for MICE events.
The appointment is motivated by her commitment in favour of the city and for having supported and promoted with passion and professionalism the candidacy of Milan to host the 2022 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference – NSS MIC 2022.
The award ceremony took place on Tuesday July 20th,2021 in the afternoon at Palazzo Marino, seat of the Municipality of Milan, in the presence of the Mayor Beppe Sala, the Councilor for Tourism, Sport and Quality of Life Roberta Guaineri and other representatives of the institutions, as part of the official presentation of the international communication campaign “Not in Milano”, which proposes Milan as the best European destination where to organize the first post-pandemic business trip.
"I am very keen for the opportunity I had to promote Milano as the hosting town of the IEEE NSS MIC 2022 – commented Prof. Guazzoni – It has been a very long path, that started in 2018 and I am even happier now to announce that, after two years of virtual congresses, the event will take place – or at least we all hope – once again in presence. I am sure it will be a great occasion to meet colleagues and friends again in person. This is the key to strengthen existing collaborations and to stimulate the birth of new ones. Collaboration are the natural and ideal breeding ground for new ideas and for the scientific and professional growth of our younger colleagues. It will also be an extraordinary opportunity to promote the city of Milan, which in all my presentations I love to call an international city with an Italian heart, providing Italian hospitality in an international way ".
