Abstract

On Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:30 am we will have a new talk for the series #NECSTFridayTalk.

During this talk, we will have, as speaker, Marco Balossini, PhD at Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria.

Shared micro-mobility services like e-scooters and e-bikes recently improved urban transportation, offering flexible and sustainable short-trip options. Yet their rapid growth has left security considerations lagging behind.
This talk will outline the current security landscape of these services, with a focus on client-side components. It will introduce a reference architecture and a threat model that highlights the most pressing risks, before sharing the results from a set of experiments evaluating real-world applications.

The NECSTLab is a DEIB laboratory, with different research lines on advanced topics in computing systems: from architectural characteristics, to hardware-software codesign methodologies, to security and dependability issues of complex system architectures.

Every week, the “NECSTFridayTalk” invites researchers, professionals or entrepreneurs to share their work experiences and projects they are implementing in the “Computing Systems”.
