Abstract

On Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at 11.30 am we will have a new talk of the NECSTSpecialTalk series titled "Deep learning in computational pathology for precision medicine".

During this talk, we will host Professor Ching-Wei Wang, Chair of the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. Below, you can find some details about the talk:

Despite many promising clinical outcome data, cancer immunotherapy currently benefits only a small subset of cancer patients, averaging around 20%, as assessed through clinical trials across various cancer indications. As not all patients respond to cancer immunotherapy and some even experience serious adverse immune reactions, there is an urgent need for biomarkers predicting patients’ responses to cancer treatments. In this talk, Prof Ching-Wei Wang will share her recent research in building deep learning-based systems in computational pathology for precision oncology.
