Abstract
The third edition of Polimi Open Campus will be held on Saturday, May 25 at the Leonardo Campus and will also involve PolimiRun Kids for a day of celebration and games dedicated to the little ones. The Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering will participate in the event with four initiatives.
From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., it will be possible to see Yape, the self-driving robot operating in logistics and delivery, and the futuristic Maserati MC20 'Cielo', protagonist of 1000 MAD, the autonomous driving experimentation project on public roads promoted by the Politecnico di Milanoand and coordinated by Prof. Sergio Matteo Savaresi.
From 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Prof. Simone Vesentini will hold the workshop 'Sgomma il bozzolo', meant for children aged 6 to 13. By participating in the workshop, children will experience the process of 'degumming' silkworm cocoons by touching the small and light silkworms immersed in water. The seminar will be held in room 3.0.1, Building 3. Click here to register.
From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pietro Crovari will hold the workshop 'Facciamo innovazione', also meant for children and focused on the methodology of design thinking. Starting from the analysis of a problem to create possible innovative solutions, the workshop will show how to test ideas to understand if they are really effective or if they need some improvements. By doing so, it is possible to become a 'superhero of innovation'. The seminar will be held in room 3.0.2, Building 3.
