USB-MEA60-Inv-BC-System

Description
The USB-MEA60-Inv-BC-System (Multi Channel Systems GmbH, Reutlingen, Germany) is a complete electrophysiology setup to perform extracellular recordings from neuronal cultures grown on 60 channel MicroElectrode Arrays (MEAs). The first stage of the system is the MEA1060-Inv-BC 60 channel pre-amplifier (bandwidth: 0.02 Hz to 8500 Hz, gain: 55), which is compatible with the stage of an inverted microscope to perform microscopy investigations during recordings and is equipped with a blanking circuit to prevent stimulus artifact. The second stage is the FA60S-BC device, which is a 60 channel filter amplifier (bandwidth: 10 Hz to 3 kHz, gain: 20). Then the signals are acquired and digitized by the USB-ME64 analog/digital board (up to 50 kHz per channel, 16 bit), which transmit the digital signals to a connected computer via universal serial bus (USB 2.0 High Speed) in real-time. The power supply for the analog-front end is delivered by the PS40W Power Supply (+/– 7 V, 42 W) while the analog/digital board is supplied by the MPU 30 (11-13 V, 30 W). The MEA housing of the first stage is equipped with a heating plate, connected to the TC02 Temperature controller (Proportional-Integrator technology, range 0°C-105°C) to keep the MEA at the desired temperature.
