The Climbing Lab is a research laboratory focused on the design of advanced technologies, sensing systems, and mathematical methods for the study of climbing and activities in the vertical environment. The lab develops and integrates hardware design, modelling, and data analysis techniques to quantitatively assess human movement, interaction with equipment, and performance in vertical contexts.
Core activities include the development of measurement technologies and mathematical models for climbing and work at height, as well as the definition of experimental protocols and analysis methods to study movement strategies, forces, and loads.
Climbing Lab also designs methodologies and tools to support the use of climbing in rehabilitation and to test innovative forms of interactive climbing, enabling objective assessment and evidence-based intervention. By combining engineering and applied research, Climbing Lab fosters innovation in sport technology, healthcare, and occupational safety within the vertical world.
